Soluble beta-1,3/1,6 glucan (SBG)

Extensive R&D studies are carried out in cooperation with leading scientists at institutions of high reputation in Norway and abroad, with the purpose to develop pharmaceutical products from the company’s beta-1,3/1,6-glucan preparations.

The company has completed a phase I study as well as several proof-of-concept studies in established and experimental disease models, in addition to numerous pre-clinical studies. At present the following proof-of-concept or phase II human studies are carried out with SBG:

• Counteraction of side-effects caused by cancer therapy
• Wound healing
• Gingivitis and periodontitis
• Immune modulation 
• Immunotherapy of cancer
