Biotec Pharmacon's patent application referring to a combination therapy for cancer treatment has been granted in Mexico

 

Biotec Pharmacon and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) have been awarded a patent in Mexico for the general concept of combining beta glucans and monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of a wide range of cancers.

The patent protects the general concept of combining and using beta glucans as an adjuvant together with monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of cancer. The patent is one of several approved patents within a large patent family, and further patent applications are still pending. This patent approval is a new milestone in the development of a commercial product for the immunotherapy of cancer and reconfirms Biotec Pharmacons leadership and exclusivity for such a concept in this medical field.

Biotec Pharmacon has developed this concept together with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). Biotec Pharmacon and MSKCC are joint owners of this technology and the company has an exclusive license on MSKCC's rights to this patent.
