Biotec Pharmacon will exhibit at stand 62 at the EWMA 2012 in Vienna promoting its advanced wound management product, Woulgan® biogel. We will inform potential partners, key opinion leaders and wound care professionals about the commercial and scientific background and benefits of the product as well as demonstrating practical applications of the product for Treatment of Chronic Wounds including Diabetic Foot Ulcers. We will proudly explain the superiority of Woulgan® biogel in relation to existing hydrogel treatments. At the conference CEO Mr. Svein Lien, CSO Dr. Rolf Engstad and the Director IP & Business Development Mr. Alexander J. Bjørnå will be present to introduce Woulgan® biogel to stakeholders and other interested parties.

ArcticZymes AS, a subsidiary of Biotec Pharmacon ASA has received a Notice of Allowance for the Norwegian patent application of the SAP-patent family.

The allowed patent covers the product and its use as well as the method of producing SAP, ArcticZymes' top-selling enzyme Shrimp Alkaline Phosphatase (SAP). With the approval of this new patent in Norway, ArcticZymes has now a comprehensive patent protection for SAP. There are no further patent applications pending in this patent family, all have been approved. Aside the recently granted Norwegian patent, the SAP-technology is now protected in 17 other countries including major markets like the USA, Japan, UK, Germany, France and Italy.

Biotec Pharmacon presents its results for the first quarter 2012 on Monday 7 May. The results will be presented by CEO Svein Lien and Managing Director of ArcticZymes AS Jan Buch Andersen.

Biotec Pharmacon subsidiary ArcticZymes AS has filed a priority application on a newly developed heat-labile endonuclease with outstanding properties.

This new endonuclease features optimal activity at extremely high salt concentrations and is irreversibly inactivated by very gentle heat-treatment conditions.

Biotec Pharmacon ASA has been issued two patents that cover the combination of monoclonal antibodies and yeast beta glucan for treatment of a large variety of cancers by the Japanese and the Indian Patent Offices.

Biotec Pharmacon has developed this concept together with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). Biotec Pharmacon and MSKCC are joint owners of this technology and the company has an exclusive license on MSKCC’s rights to these patents.

Biotec BetaGlucans is pleased to confirm that the first technical batch of its new Woulgan^® Biogel product for advanced wound healing has been successfully completed at Austrian company Sanochemia Pharmaceuticals AG.

Sanochemia has also been elected to perform the three validation batches that will follow over the coming months. 

During the coming year Biotec BetaGlucans will decide on the long term subcontractor to be used for the commercial production to follow after the expected launch of product.
